Stephen Gregory Curtis
Film Production Experience:
One of the highlights of his career that he is extremely proud of is his work on the inner city drama, "53206: Milwaukee” In addition to co-writing, producing, and being the music and editing supervisor, he coached the very talented cast, most of which had never acted before, daily for several weeks before production began to get them ready for filming. "They worked hard and they were very dedicated, every day, and the results speak for themselves,” Stephen said after the production wrapped.
Other recent projects include co-directing and co-writing the play “Agape Love” at the 1300 seat Pabst theater. “Agape Love” starred Men of Standard Gospel singer Lowell Pye, Multi Grammy Award-winner and Fighting Temptations actor, Anny Nesby, as well as Grammy Award winner and mega Gospel artist, Damita Chandler (Haddon). Stephen also produced the action packed horror/thriller, “The Russian Bride,” starring Corbin Bernsen.
Among Curtis’ favorite, yet bittersweet projects was helping the late Chet Holmes, who was battling leukemia, turn his book, “The Strongest Man on Earth” into a web series, which Stephen directed. Issues close to Curtis’ heart are cancer research, helping the homeless, education and anti-bullying. He works for the non-profit, Operation Save Milwaukee, where he has fed the homeless as well as assisted victims of homicide by helping with funerals and counseling families. Stephen studied screenwriting with David Howard (founder of USC’s Screenwriting Program).
My personal acting training includes graduating from a two-year program at the Meisner School of acting and training for 3 years with the outstanding acting instructor, Sara Wood. I started out pursuing and working as an actor but eventually fell in love with writing and directing and focused on that.
